Great article. I can¡¯t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.

This is a pretty old tutorial and quite a bit has changed both with Flash and the other things I reference. Unfortunately the files are long gone so I can't post them for you to dissect. The point is that this is more of a proof of concept so it should be pretty easy to replicate since the concepts haven't changed a whole lot. The SWFObject is now hosted by Google Code <a href="http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/" rel="nofollow">Here</a>

Yes unfortunately the way HTML works is similar to layers of transparent paper. You can't interact with something that already has layers of interaction on top of them. You can solve the issue of the "invisible" Flash container, but using javascript to dynamically resize the container to be the height of the actual Flash content.

The CSS defines the top and left position, but how can I make my HTML content centered on the page? I was able to center it horizontally, but the container resides at the bottom of the page :(

Thanks for your help!

Hi
That's great thanks.

Unfortunately it doesn't work when flash is in fullscreen mode (Stage["displayState"]="fullScreen")

Cheers
