Great article. I can��t wait to hear more about your research tool. If it is as good as your other products, then you will have another winner. Your article pretty much summed up what I have been seeing too. Great to see some hard data.

This is a pretty old tutorial and quite a bit has changed both with Flash and the other things I reference. Unfortunately the files are long gone so I can't post them for you to dissect. The point is that this is more of a proof of concept so it should be pretty easy to replicate since the concepts haven't changed a whole lot. The SWFObject is now hosted by Google Code Here

hi, I have been busy, and just now attempting to try this project, but was not able to find SWFObject to download,
also, do you possible have the entire set of files I could download to mess with,

Yes unfortunately the way HTML works is similar to layers of transparent paper. You can’t interact with something that already has layers of interaction on top of them. You can solve the issue of the “invisible” Flash container, but using javascript to dynamically resize the container to be the height of the actual Flash content.

it’s a great TUT, but you can’t click ( mark any HTML ) under the area of the grey FLASH menu, even when it’s closed… which is an issue

The CSS defines the top and left position, but how can I make my HTML content centered on the page? I was able to center it horizontally, but the container resides at the bottom of the page

Unfortunately it doesn’t work when flash is in fullscreen mode (Stage["displayState"]=”fullScreen”)
